Flavors of the Family
The fresh smell of basil, the rich scent of a simple tomato sauce, the aromatic herbs just harvested and used in our special Sunday preparations.
When the whole family got together first in the kitchen and then around the table, to have lunch all together. It is really true… there are smells and images that bring to our mind scenes of childhood made of many reminiscences and a strong tradition.
Casa Iuorio’s history born from our grandparents, that dedicated our life to grow up our big family, with the daily and laborious work of their fields. From them we learned to work the raw materials and preserve the genuine products of our land: aubergines, tomatoes, broccoli, artichokes, courgettes in oil. Therefore we decided now to offer to good food lovers the fruit of all that we learned.
Our daily commitment is the open field cultivation, that is without using greenhouses, and the artisan process of the fresh raw materials.
Our commitment is also the salvage of horticultural varieties of the Alta Valle del Sele, in the province of Salerno, a territorial area where our farm is located.
Broccoli “spiert” (wild) from Palomonte, pomodoro al sole (sunshine tomato) peppers (sweet, spicy and the characteristic “corno di capra”) are just some of the local varieties that we decided to cultivate in our fields and bring back to the tables of gourmets.
In this way we also give our contribution to safeguarding the biodiversity of our area.
In our pantry you will always find many ideas for your meals. At breakfast, with our sweet and bittersweet compotes, with a reduced percentage of sugar, compared to the classic jams.
You prepare fantastic appetizers, with our traditional pickles: broccoli, artichokes, green beans, eggplant, zucchini. You’ll be spoilt for choice to season pasta, with ready-made sauces and tomato preserves.
You will impress your guests with Ortomayo®, the exclusive vegan mayonnaise of vegetables, prepared with only four natural ingredients, suitable for many uses. And you can return to prepare the snack as it used to be: a nice slice of homemade bread with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, the king of our table.
